What is Botox?

Botox is the commercial name for Botulism Toxin A, a neurotoxin produced by the bacteria Clostridium botulinum that prevents muscles from contracting.  Although Botox is the most popular neurotoxin due to its time in the market, it is important to know that there are four different injectables on the market: Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, and Jeuveau, and all of these use botulinum toxin to smooth out wrinkles and lessen the signs of aging in the same way

order to enhance the results of the procedure.

How this Botox work?

Botox, Botulism Toxin A, works by blocking the signal from the nerves to the muscles causing paralysis of the injected muscle which makes the muscle unable to contract and cause wrinkles. Although, Botox doesn’t make wrinkles disappear, it softens the appearance of wrinkles and makes them less visible and slows down the progression of the wrinkles.

How old white have to be to use Botox?

Most people believe that Botox is for the old, Botox is approved for patients who are 18 years and older. Truth is the Botox works best as a preventative therapy. When started early, Botox can help prevent the formation of static lines and reduce the visibility and depth of wrinkles and most experts agree that starting in your mid to late 20s and early 30s is good age for preventative Botox treatment.
